Singapore Airlines has been in the cargo business for over 50 years, since we first flew the Airspeed Consuls in 1947. In July 1992, a fully-fledged Cargo division was formed to devote even more attention to the cargo business. As a further step in our evolution we were formed as an independently managed subsidiary of Singapore Airlines on the 1st July 2001. This will bring about greater management accountability and provide even greater motivation for our people to provide solutions to best meet your air freight requirements.
At Singapore Airlines Cargo, we place great emphasis on delivering high standards of service to our customers. We are proud that SIA Cargo was awarded the "Award for Excellence" for 4 consecutive years in the Air Carrier category, which was awarded by Air Cargo World. In 2008, SIA Cargo was bestowed the “Best Air Cargo Carrier in Asia” and "Best Green Service Provider - Airline" by Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards. SIA Cargo won the “Top Airline for Outstanding Service” award in the Federation of Asia-Pacific Aircargo Association Awards and also won the "Top 10 Airlines by Cargo Carriage" award for the second year in succession by CAAS. Besides its high standards of customer service, Singapore Airlines Cargo was also honored for its contributions to the Arts and was awarded the “Friend of Heritage Award” for 3 consecutive years since 2008 by the National Heritage Board of Singapore.

SIA Cargo is one of the world’s largest operators of B747-400 freighters. Not only is the B747-400 the most technologically advanced commercial freighter today, its wide body can carry almost any type of cargo over long distances. So your cargo reaches its destination sooner.
Rapidly Expanding Network
Over our 50 years in business, we’ve expanded our network to over 70 cities in more than 36 countries across the world. And with more than 600 flights a week, we can fly almost anywhere in the world, anytime.
Bigger and Better Cargo Centre
We call our cargo centre in Singapore the SIA Superhub 1 & 2. The warehouse was opened in 1995, and has a handling capacity of at least 450,000 tonnes per year.
The SIA Superhub 2 which was opened in 2001, increases our capacity by another 800,000 tonnes. The Singapore Airlines Superhub 1 & 2 (Airfreight Terminals) are ISO 9001:2000 certified and have a combined processing area of 94,000 m2. This allows us to handle the ever-growing cargo traffic through our Singapore hub, Changi Airport, even more efficiently.
On an international freight tonne-kilometre basis, we rank fourth in the world (2009).
