Shipping Requirements
Please note the following points before shipping dangerous goods with Singapore Airlines:
You must fully comply with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations when transporting restricted goods. You must ensure that the articles or substances are not prohibited for transportation by air. You are responsible to ensure that such articles or substances must be properly identified, classified, packed, marked, labelled, documented and be in the condition for transport in accordance with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. You must complete a Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (where applicable) and an air waybill for each consignment of dangerous goods. Advance arrangement required. Only explosives of Division 1.4S packed for “Passenger and Cargo Aircraft” or “Cargo Aircraft Only” may be accepted.

Class 7, Fissile Material, including fissile excepted, will not be accepted.
Only Class 9, UN 3373, UN 3528, dangerous goods in limited or excepted quantities, aircraft batteries transported as items of replacement will be uplifted into/over the United States in a passenger aircraft. For uplift in a cargo aircraft, please refer to Table USG-13.A of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
UN 3356 Oxygen generator, chemical will not be accepted.
The following applies to lithium batteries:
1. UN 3090 Lithium metal batteries. Lithium metal cells and batteries are prohibited from carriage as cargo on Singapore Airlines aircraft. This applies to Section IA, IB and Section II of Packing Instruction 968. In addition lithium metal cells and batteries (UN 3091) prepared in accordance with Section I of Packing Instruction 969 and Packing Instruction 970 are prohibited for carriage as cargo on Singapore Airlines passenger aircraft.
2. UN 3480 Lithium ion batteries. Lithium ion cells and batteries are prohibited from carriage as cargo on Singapore Airlines aircraft. This applies to Section IA, IB and Section II of Packing Instruction 965.
This prohibition does not apply to:
- Lithium metal cells and batteries packed with or contained in equipment (UN 3091) in accordance with Section II of PI 969 and PI 970 on passenger aircraft;
- Lithium ion cells and batteries packed with or contained in equipment (UN 3481) in accordance with PI 966 and PI 967; or
- Lithium ion batteries covered by the Provisions for Dangerous Goods Carried by Passengers or Crew (see 2.3.2 to 2.3.5 and Table 2.3.A)
The shipper must provide a 24-hour emergency telephone number of a person/agency who is knowledgeable of the hazards, characteristics and actions to be taken in the case of an accident or incident concerning each of the dangerous goods being transported.
This telephone number, including the country and area code, preceded by the words “Emergency Contact” or “24-hour number”, must be inserted on the DGD, preferably in the “Handling Information” box, e.g. Emergency Contact +47 6750 0000
Dangerous goods shipments will only be accepted from Scoot and Silkair.

Oxygen or air, gaseous, cylinders required for medical or other uses are not permitted in as passenger's checked or carry-on baggage and on one's person. Should a passenger require supplementary oxygen, a prior request must be made to Singapore Airlines (see 2.3.4.1). Supplementary Oxygen Kit (SOK) shall be provided by Singapore Airlines.
