Cairo

Egypt is famous for its rich historical relics and the Pyramids of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the world. Located at the northeastern part of Africa, the country is mostly desert with cities and settlements located along the famous River Nile, the world’s longest river.

Of the country’s 72 million population, 18 million live in Cairo, the capital city and the largest city in the Middle East.

SIA started flying to Cairo in November 1984 with a weekly B747 passenger service. Today, Cairo is served by three weekly B777-300 services and six staff members with Hany Wahba as the Cargo Manager. Our GSA for Cairo is Far East Travels & Tours.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, textiles, crystal products and carpets are major commodities carried on SIA Cargo’s Cairo services.

An unforgettable shipment that the station once handled was a shipment of ancient Egyptian relics to Australia that was insured for US$50 million!
