THE MALDIVES
SIA started flying to Male, the capital of the Maldives,
with a B747-200 aircraft on 28 March 1984. The flight set a record
then as the largest aircraft to call on Male. Today, SIA operates
four weekly B777-200 services to Male.
SIA Cargo markets the bellyhold cargo capacity of these passenger
services.
Fish is the primary export commodity of the Maldives. The major uplifts
are to Tokyo and Osaka and these are mostly fresh tuna. We also carry
frozen tuna steaks to Europe, chilled fish to Bangkok and live fish
to Hong Kong. |
