Singapore Airlines Cargo today announced
the launch of Securerider, a new freight product designed
to meet customers' stringent needs for high security in the
transportation of valuable and vulnerable goods.
Securerider gives customers the reassurance
of knowing their valuable cargo is under independent surveillance
airport-to-airport, from the time it's accepted until it's
collected. Securerider is ideally suited for highly valuable
cargo, such as jewellery and artworks, as well as other security
cargo, such as high-value pharmaceuticals and computer chips.
On the ground, secured warehouse facilities
will be utilized for the storage of Securerider shipments.
Depending on the exact nature of the goods, these range from
strong rooms, lockable cages, secure stacker racks and areas
guarded by security personnel. Additional security at these
locations is provided by means of closed circuit television
surveillance.
At each stage of the handling process,
accountability is enforced through a series of processes and
checklists.
President of Singapore Airlines Cargo,
Mr. Hwang Teng Aun, said "From artworks to shipments of electronics
and pharmaceuticals, SIA Cargo has a wealth of experience
in the shipment of valuable and vulnerable goods. Now we can
offer customers even more comfort - knowing their shipments
are safe."
Securerider will be offered with guaranteed
uplift; 50% of the freight charges will be refunded if the
cargo is not uplifted as booked.
Securerider builds on SIA Cargo's reputation
for delivering specialist products designed to suit customers'
specific needs. The other products in this family are:
Swiftrider,
a product for time-critical shipments such as urgent Just-In-Time
cargo and samples. Shipments can be accepted up to an hour
before the scheduled departure time, and goods are available
within four hours of flight arrival. The service offers a
full money-back guarantee.
Timerider, an airport-to-airport service
targeted at heavy freight. The service offers 50% money-back
uplift guarantee.
Coolrider uses specially-designed,
thermostatically-controlled containers to handle temperature
sensitive cargo. Coolrider tracks and records temperature
during transport, and is targeted at pharmaceuticals, high
quality meats and seafood.
