Singapore Airlines Cargo has been voted “Best Air Cargo Carrier” at this year’s Asia Logistics Awards held in Shanghai, following similar consecutive successes at the 2002, 2003 and 2004 events. This fourth time win was the result of a vote by a panel of judges presided by Lloyd's Freight Transport Buyer Asia.

“SIA Cargo has continued to place customer satisfaction at the top of its priority list, with improvements in service capability and global reach constantly being sought. We are delighted that these efforts are recognised in the marketplace and would like to thank everybody who voted for SIA Cargo this year, as well as our dedicated staff.” said Mr Koh Kah Heok, General Manager – China, SIA Cargo.

Over the past 12 months, Singapore Airlines Cargo’s services have become available on an even wider network as the Boeing 747-400 “Mega Ark” freighter fleet has grown, with additional frequencies being added on high demand routes to China and beyond to the United States, as well as to major cities in India. A new service linking Brussels, Johannesburg and Singapore was also launched during the year.

Booking and tracking shipments on Singapore Airlines Cargo has been made even easier with customers/agents now able to enjoy the full benefits of enhanced online systems.

Singapore Airlines Cargo currently operates on a global network that extends to 75 cities in 38 countries. In addition to the fifteen “Mega Ark” Boeing 747-400 Freighters currently in service, a further aircraft of this type is due for delivery in early 2006 and deliveries of three Boeing 747-400 passenger to freighter conversions will take place between 2007 and 2009. SIA Cargo markets the entire cargo capacity of the SIA passenger aircraft fleet on its worldwide network. SIA Cargo is a member of the WOW alliance and Cargo 2000.
