Singapore Airlines Cargo is ready to expand the range of services that it can provide on services to China following the award of a Dangerous Goods (DG) permit by the Central and Southern Administration of CAAC. Singapore Airlines Cargo is the first foreign airline which is approved to carry Dangerous Goods on all services to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Xiamen. The transportation of such items can be safely carried on commercial aircraft as long as they comply with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Singapore Airlines Cargo currently operates 10 weekly 747-400 Mega Ark Freighter services to China, including six weekly services to USA via China. It also markets the entire cargo capacity on the bellyhold of Singapore Airlines' 55 passenger flights operating between Singapore and China.
Singapore Airlines Cargo currently operates a fleet of fourteen
Mega Ark Boeing 747-400 freighters on a global network that
extends to 70 cities in 36 countries. A further two aircraft
of this type are due for delivery in 2005. SIA Cargo also
markets the entire cargo capacity of the SIA passenger aircraft
fleet on its worldwide network. SIA Cargo is a member of the
WOW alliance and Cargo 2000.
