Singapore Airlines Cargo
(SIA Cargo) has taken delivery of its 14th Mega Ark B747-400
Freighter in time to be deployed on an expanded "Summer
Season" service network that commences on 28th March 2004.
Freighter frequencies to Los Angeles, the largest international
airfreight gateway in the United States of America will be increased
to nine times weekly from Singapore. The two new services to Los
Angeles will be routed through Xiamen and Nanjing in China, with
full 5th freedom traffic rights.
This will increase service frequencies between China and the United
States of America to five weekly, with the other three services
serving Chicago, also via Xiamen and Nanjing. There will be a total
of 6 weekly services to Chicago, including the 3 services via China.
Services through India will also be increased, with new twice weekly
freighter service through Bangalore, in the fast growing Indian
technology region, directly to Amsterdam.
A new scheduled freighter service will be introduced to Colombo,
Sri Lanka once a week with the flight routing New York - Brussels-Kuwait-Colombo-
Singapore.
European services to Amsterdam will be increased to six times weekly,
with Frankfurt to be served three times weekly. The SIA Cargo hub
in Brussels will see departures almost doubling to sixteen weekly.
In addition to dedicated freighter services, SIA Cargo also markets
the entire cargo capacity of the SIA passenger aircraft fleet on
its worldwide network. SIA Cargo operates to 75 cities in 38 countries.
