Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo)
is pleased to have been named 'Best All Cargo Airline' and
'Best Air Cargo Carrier - Asia' at the Asian Freight and Supply
Chain Awards (AFSCA) in Singapore last night.
SIA Cargo thanks its customers, partners
and friends whose votes resulted in the airline picking up
both these awards for the tenth year in succession.
The AFSCA's are awarded solely on
a voting process, which is independently audited to verify
the winners.
Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing
at SIA Cargo, Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, stressed the importance
of airlines' relationships with their customers, as he accepted
the award. "Especially in uncertain times like these, our
success is largely defined by our relationship with our customers.
This award is a tribute to the ability of our staff to adapt
to our customers' changing needs in a very dynamic environment",
he said.
Singapore Airlines Cargo, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, operates to more than
75 cities in 38 countries across 5 continents, using a fleet
of 12 dedicated B747-400 freighters, and the bellyhold capacity
of Singapore Airlines' fleet of 94 widebodied passenger aircraft.
In 2001, SIA Cargo was the world's second-largest international
cargo airline in terms of freight tonne-kilometres carried.
