Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo) completed a sale and leaseback transaction for a B747-400 freighter aircraft on 26 April 2004. This is the first sale and leaseback transaction completed by SIA Cargo, and is part of its fleet residual value risk management program. The aircraft was sold to AFS Investments 61 LLC, a subsidiary of Aviation Financial Services Inc, and is leased back for 10 years.

SIA Cargo currently operates a fleet of thirteen Mega Ark Boeing 747- 400 freighters on a global network that extends to 70 cities in 36 countries. One additional aircraft is out on lease, whilst three more Boeing 747-400 Freighters are on order. In addition to dedicated freighter services, SIA Cargo also markets the entire cargo capacity of the SIA passenger aircraft fleet on its worldwide network. SIA Cargo is a member of the WOW alliance.
