Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA Cargo)
has been voted Best Airfreight Carrier at the inaugural Asia
Logistics Awards in Hong Kong.
The award was based on a poll of the
readers of Lloyd's Freight Transport Buyer Asia, along with
Asia-based readers of International Freighting Weekly and
Containerisation International.
The criteria for the independently
audited poll included customer service, reliability and product
offerings, and covered all airlines with substantial coverage
in Asia, not just those based in the region.
Other factors readers were asked to
take into account were network size, efficiency of documentation
processing and partnership initiatives.
Receiving the award on behalf of Singapore
Airlines Cargo at the Asia Logistics Awards dinner in Hong
Kong last night, SIA Cargo's Senior Vice-President Sales and
Marketing, Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, said "It is a great honour
for Singapore Airlines Cargo to receive such an award, especially
one that's based on the opinions of the readers of Lloyd's
FTB Asia. It reaches many of the key decision makers and opinion
leaders in the logistics industry throughout the region."
Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines
Cargo won the Best Global Air Cargo Carrier and Best Air Cargo
Carrier - Asia awards at the Asian Freight Industry Awards
for the ninth year in succession.
Singapore Airlines Cargo, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, operates to 70 cities in 36 countries across 5 continents, using a fleet of 11 dedicated
B747-400 freighters, and the bellyhold capacity of Singapore
Airlines' fleet of 94 widebodied passenger aircraft.
